What’s involved in tree crown reductions

Crown reduction is when the height and or spread of a tree is reduced by selectively cutting back to smaller branches overall by removing branches evenly throughout the crown. This process also removes dangerous deadwood and crossing branches, reducing the chances of infection throughout the tree. Compared to topping, crown reduction helps maintain the form and structural integrity of the tree, helping to maintain its health.

Reduction is conducted on large or small trees for a number of reasons. You may have a tree that would benefit from crown reductions when it becomes too large, untidy or it’s not suited to its environment. For example, Arborists can provide appropriate solutions, such as reducing trees for health and good structure or to keep them away from wires, fences and buildings. It is also a useful means of retaining very old trees.

Here at Avon Tree Care we have all the necessary equipment and experience to help you with all types of tree crown reductions. So for more information or a quote please get in touch.
